Posted Date: 08/31/26 (06:30 PM)

Hello Haverhill Families,

Welcome back! As we prepare to begin a new school year, I am filled with optimism for all that lies ahead for our students, families, educators, and staff.

The start of a new school year is always a special time. It is a time for new beginnings, new friendships, new opportunities, and new goals. Whether your child is entering school for the very first time, returning to a familiar classroom, or beginning a new chapter at one of our elementary, middle, or high schools, we are so excited to welcome you to Haverhill Public Schools.

Our dedicated teachers, administrators, and staff have been working throughout the summer to make sure our schools are ready to provide every student with a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment.

Some important reminders about the 2026-2027 School Year:

First Day of School: The first day of school for students in Grades 1-12 will be Wednesday, September 2, 2026. The first day of school for all PreK-Kindergarten students is Wednesday, September 9, 2026. On Tuesday, September 1, 2026 many of our schools will host Open Houses, you can view a complete list of all HPS Open House dates and times on our website.

District School Calendar: Stay up to date with important dates throughout the school year! The Haverhill Public Schools District Calendar includes the first and last days of school, holidays, vacations, professional development days, and other important dates for families and students.

ParentSquare: Haverhill Public Schools has streamlined communications, bringing the District, schools, administrators, and teachers together to share important information with families in one convenient place. Visit our ParentSquare webpage to learn more, customize your notification settings, and download the app.

Please note: HPS will not use your information for purposes unrelated to school communications.

Device Waiver Fee: Haverhill Public Schools provides students with district-issued devices to support learning. For the 2026–2027 school year, a $20 Device Waiver Fee covers a student device for the year and helps protect families from eligible accidental damage or repair costs. Please visit our Device Waiver Fee webpage for more information.

New Powered Micromobility Device Policy: The Haverhill School Committee has recognized the safety concerns surrounding electric-powered devices and, in collaboration with the Haverhill Police Department, has implemented a new Powered Micromobility Device Policy. The policy establishes clear expectations for the prohibited use and storage of these devices on school property. To view the full policy version, please visit the Haverhill School Committee Policy Manual webpage.

School Bus Routes: Haverhill Public Schools provides bus transportation to eligible students across the District. Families can visit our School Bus Routes webpage to find their child’s bus route, stop locations, and scheduled pick-up and drop-off times.

To our students: We are excited to see you! Come to school ready to learn, ask questions, try new things, and make the most of every opportunity. Remember that your voice matters, your ideas matter, and you are an important part of our school community!

To our families: Thank you for partnering with us. Your support, encouragement, and involvement play an important role in your child’s success. We look forward to working together throughout the year to help every student reach their full potential.

Welcome back, Haverhill! Here’s to a wonderful 2026–2027 school year filled with learning, growth, connection, and Hillie pride. Let’s make it our best year yet!
